DLloydDerek Lloyd – FE Samuels

President / CEO

Originally from Trinidad & Tobago, Mr. Lloyd has resided in Nigeria, Scotland, London, Holland, Qatar and Barbados. Mr. Lloyd is the Founder of the Chamber. During his tenure as President, Mr. Lloyd has successfully spearheaded a number of successful initiatives and programs in the Tampa Bay region including the first ever International Business Summit (IBSummit – www.ibsummit.org ) in Tampa along with (9) other bi-lateral Chambers of Commerce from the Tampa Bay region and organizations and the 18th Annual Retailers Conference of the Americas. His rigor working with business, numerous speaking engagements and community organizations has also led him to key appointments such as:

  • Chairman of the Committees of the Americas for the Caribbean Basin
  • Board of Director for the World Trade Center of Tampa Bay
  • Board of Director for the Tampa Bay World Affairs Regional Council
  • Advisory BOD – International Business Summit
  • Board of Director – CARIB Project
  • Board of Director of the Caribbean American Chamber of Commerce of Florida

Treasurer

Mrs. Arthurton, originally from the Island of St.Kitts, has over 20 years experience in Banking and Finance. As a Licensed Mortgage Broker both commercial and residential and certified Notary by profession she has over the past decade successfully established and continues to operate a Mortgage Brokerage firm. She overseas a daily operation of Real Estate, Personal Investments, and Hard Money Lending in both the U.S. and four island nations of the Caribbean. Caroline offers a unique opportunity to her investors by offering complete financier services with a personal high-touch approach. Caroline has served on different Committees and Organizations in the past years and currently serves as Treasurer of the Caribbean American Chamber of Commerce of Tampa Bay. Secretary/ Founder


Originally from Trinidad & Tobago, Mrs. Benoit has lived in Tampa since the mid eighties. Her background includes Non-profit, Information Technology, Human Resources, and Learning & Education. She has worked with Fortune 500 companies such as State Farm Insurance, JPMorgan Chase and PricewaterhouseCoopers. Solange Benoit is the Co-Founder of the Chamber. Mrs. Benoit was instrumental in creating a number of lead generation groups, and was the secretary for other chambers before starting CACCTB. Mrs. Benoit has also been successful spearheading communications efforts, membership, and several large scale events such as the International Business Summit (IBS). Her attention to details, implementing ideas, and making decisions in working with business, speaking engagements and community organizations has also led her an ecclectic mix of key appointments such as:

  • Past Board of Director and Past Secretary of the Caribbean American Chamber of Commerce of Florida
  • Secretary of the International Business Summit 2007-2008
  • SAP Trainer with Business Systems Designers

dr. ramDr. Ram Ramcharran – American Primary Care Inc.

Historian

Dr. Ramcharran earned his PhD in counseling from the Wesleyan Bible College in 2001. He has MBA in Finance and Management and BA in Political Science and Management and Military Science from Florida State University. Dr. Ramcharran has (14) years of business and professional experience in finance management. The last 3 years have been spent in the counseling arena focusing on weight management and motivation and personal coaching. He most recently been recognized by Metropolitan whose who in business in America. His international experience includes having worked in the import and export area in the early 90s, mostly in the Caribbean and South America. He lived in South America briefly and worked in and traveled to several islands in the Western Caribbean. He has spoken for publicly traded companies and has delivered numerous presentations on self esteem and productivity. His most recent publications include:
